Messerschmitt Bf109G WNF

The Bf109G was manufactured in three different factories in Germany for the Luftwaffe, each with a distinct style of camouflage that can often quite easily be identified with a little help from other distinguishing marks. Identifying which factory an aircraft stems from will help pick the correct camouflage pattern for the wings. There were many subtle differences between different batches. Our masks offer a starting point and the modeller may need to trim or add to a mask piece to represent the aircraft that they are modelling.

WNF aircraft are closest to the official specifications for the camouflage pattern. The demarcation line on the spine is straighter, with an even, often soft, mottle. Most noticeable on WNF aircraft is the pattern on the spine with the 74 further back leaving the canopy in 75. The wing pattern is sometimes very angular and sometimes a little softer. Notice both ailerons in 75, breaking the pattern. Note – later on 81/82 was used instead of 75/74.

This set includes only the camouflage pattern. Serial numbers, code letters and other markings are not included.

Any products (models, paints etc) shown in photos are not included.
