This set provides the insignia masks for Saior Malan’s Spitfire. The aircraft saw wide service and a number of repents, especially to its undersides. There is much speculation as to the size of the lettering. Common belief, based on a wartime photo of Malan with the K9953 gives the impression that the ‘ZP” was larger on the right side. Both large and small sizes are provided and the final choice is left to the modeller, The aircraft’s undersids were painted a ‘Sky blue’ not Type-S during June 1940
