German fighter of Austrian decent, Walter ‘Nowi’ Nowotny was a holder of the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds. He shot down 258 enemy aircraft over the course of 442 combat sorties. He was killed in a Me 262 Schwalbe in combat with American escort fighters near an airfield at Hesepe on November 8th, 1944.

During the winter season, the JG 54 on the Eastern front camouflaged their aircraft in various schemes. White was applied either as an entire over-painting of the upper surface or in the shape of various white patches. This pattern can be used to depict various other aircraft mottled in this way as there was no standard. Use masking tape to create the fuselage band in yellow. Extra vinyl is provided to adapt the shapes provided to suit the subject you are modelling

This set includes only the camouflage pattern. Serial numbers, code letters and other markings are not included. See our website for more.
